Golden Age of Russian Poetry
Pushkin’s time-“A quarter of a century”, calculated by Pushkin himself from the date of the foundation of the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum (1811), the 1810-1830s-the “Golden Age” of Russian poetry. He received his name not eloquence for the sake of eloquence: it was the “golden age” in antiquity that the departed era of beauty, goodness and justice, lost paradise, was called. And, indeed, the art of the nineteenth century incorporated the most beautiful and kind, powerful and unique features of Russian culture. With the full basis, the culture of this era can be called the paradise of the Russian soul, lost, but newly found in the poems of the poets of the Pushkin era.
The collection includes the lyrical poems of the authors who determined the appearance of the "Golden Age" of Russian poetry with their work: V. Zhukovsky, K. Batyushkova, D. Davydov, P. Vyazemsky, A. Pushkin, A. Delviga, V. Kyuchelbeker, E. Baratynsky, A. Griboedov and many others.
