Golden currants, s2 pot, H40-60 Height, 1 pc, summer 2024
This extraordinary shrub can be taken as a hybrid of black and gooseberries, but in fact, although these plants are really relatives, golden currants are an independent look that grows mainly on American continents. The shrub was brought to Europe in the 19th century as an exotic novelty, from there it spread to the Caucasus, to Central Asia and further, to the Far East. The main advantage of the culture is its highest drought tolerance, and even in the sultry Uzbekistan, the seedlings of golden currants quickly and without loss take root, actively grow and subsequently fruit abundantly.
golden currants - this is a rather tall bush, up to 2.5 m high , with naked or poorly pubescent, low -haired shoots of reddish color. Leaves of medium sized, outwardly very reminiscent of gooseberries. The flowers are bright yellow or greenish-yellow, in the form of revealing tubes, small, but very fragrant, collected in loose brushes. By the way, the shrub blooms later than other berries, very impressive and very long, up to 3 weeks.
