Gospel of John. Metropolitan Alpheev Hilarion Volokolamsk
The book is a guide to the Gospel of John, in which the text of this gospel is considered in the historical and theological perspective. The gospel from John is significantly different from the three synoptic ones - from Matthew, Mark and Luke. This encourages the Gospel of John as an independent source of information about the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, significantly complementing the three other gospels. The gospel of John is essentially the Theological Treaty, in which the events from the life of Jesus are given selectively, but each event is placed into the context of a particular theological concept and clearly illustrates this concept. In the book, constant attention is paid to parallels between John's stories and the narratives of other evangelists.
