Gratitude. Dolphin de Vigan
“I work with words and silence. With unspoken. With secrets, regrets, shame. With irrevocable, with the disappearing, with memories. I work with yesterday’s pain and with today's pain. With revelations. And with the fear of death. All this is part of my profession. But if there is something in my work that continues to surprise, even amazing me, something, from which today, after more than ten years of practice, sometimes my breath is caught, then this is undoubtedly the durability of the pain experienced in childhood. Burning wounds, not healing for many years. The bitterness of resentment, which is not erased from memory. “The speech therapist is trying to help an elderly lady named Misha, who is losing words day after day. But Misha does not give peace: she never thanked the married couple, which saved her during the Second World War. She does not even know their last name, but asks her pupil Marie to an ad in the newspaper. Is there a chance that Misha will still be able to find these people and express her gratitude? And will she have enough words for this?
