Great masters. Andrey Ryabushkin
About Andrey Petrovich Ryabushkin (1861-1904), artist M.V. Nesterov said: “A man of great talent...” Ryabushkin was a triumph, but, unlike his partnership comrades, he did not try to show dramatic situations in the paintings. It was more interesting for him to write living life in all its colors. He studied the realities of Russian history, and not without reason on his canvases there are so many household items. The artist studied them in museums of Russian cities, redrawing ancient ornaments, copying fragments of ancient frescoes, costumes, weapons, etc. In albums, he made sketches of street scenes - and often they became large paintings. A quiet and modest life next to loved ones, reading, music - that was the meaning of his life: it was then that he felt happy.
