Karl Ransa Rogers (01/08/1902-04.02.1987) - the famous American psychologist, psychotherapist, one of the creators and leaders of humanistic psychology. Rogers made a great contribution to the creation of non-directive psychotherapy, which he called "personality-oriented psychotherapy" (Person-Centered Psychotherapy). Rogers considered his method a universal, that is, applicable and effective in working with a variety of customer types - both for groups and individual work, for people of different cultures, activities, religious views. In particular, its method is applicable for resolving conflicts - both intra -plain and interpersonal and intergroup. Karl Rogers was one of the creators of group psychotherapy, he actively contributed to the spread of group methods of psychotherapeutic work, which he considered extremely effective.

This book is very personal. In it, Rogers describes his experience of the host (intermediary), talks about the difficulties that the psychotherapist faces in the process of group work. Rogers insists that in group work the important spontaneity of the manifestation of feelings - both positive and negative. As people show more and more emotions and react to them, a healing ability develops in the group. As a result of feedback with the group and its approval, the participants accept and approve of themselves. He gives examples of deep positive personality changes taking place with the group members.
