The book included the chosen essays of Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996)-“Less unity”, “Guide to the renamed city” and “trophy”. They are united by memories of childhood, about parents, about the post -war Leningrad and the life that the poet left, having left his country forever. These texts, written by the author in English in the 1980-1990s, were published in New York in the collections of Less That One (“Less unity”) and “On Grief and Reason” (“On Sorrow and the Mind”). In this edition, they are presented both in the original and translated into Russian.
