Guys & Sex. Young people about love, erratic connections and modern masculinity. Oreniste P.
A book that will help parents correctly discuss issues related to sex and close relationships with their adult sons. He will direct adolescents so that they can form their own conscious behavior models.
Historically, many parents tell their daughters about sex almost nothing, and with their sons they usually speak even less on this topic. Parents of boys who were happy that they were spared from many problems with whom they usually associate their daughters, they suddenly realized that their task is actually much more difficult: they need to educate worthy men in a society where imposed stereotypes and myths about masculinity reign. It has long been a need for an open conversation about the gender characteristics and intimate life of young guys and the need to study male sexuality.
Peggy Oreniste conducted such a study. For two years, she interviewed more than a hundred young people aged 16 to 21 years old about what they themselves think about the image of an ideal man. Many of them sincerely wanted more multifaceted examples of masculinity, more advice on growing up, about sex, about the search for love in the new millennium. However, in order to give them recommendations, you must first listen to what they want to say.
Peggy Oreniste also talked with teachers and psychologists. Research results and tips for parents (the main of which is to talk with boys on difficult topics, including about sex) - in this book.
from the author:
I never thought I would write about the boys. I was interested in this topic, and I conducted a little study. For more than two years I have been talking with young people aged 16 to 22 years old, and these were deep, many hours of conversations about what it means to be a man, as well as their worldview, expectations and the first sexual and intimate experience. I do not claim that on these pages I will be able to reflect the experience of all young men. This is an unrealistic task.
Most of all, I was afraid that the guys would not want to talk to me. Unlike girls, they do not differ in conversation. Yes, and by age, I fit them in my mother. But they turned out to be even more open and in detail, honestly, frankly and enthusiastically talked about the fact that the boys seem to have to despise - about their feelings. They confessed their doubts, external pressure and experiences; in their uncertainty in intimate relationships; In an effort to communicate and in fear that nothing will work out. They talked about sexual pleasure - not only their own, but also their partner, and in what cases the latter is important for them (or not important). They should have discussed great efforts to discuss the topic of the influence of pornography; They spoke about their attitude to random relations and how their nationality, sexual orientation and gender identity affect the idea of masculinity. They shared how hard it is for them to listen to mockery to girls who constantly sound in men's sports lockers. And complained about the prejudice that the guys need only sex.
for whom the book:

- for everyone who wants to debunk stereotypes and myths about masculinity within themselves.
