Harka, son of the leader. Veloscope-Genrich L.
The Romanov cycle “Sons of the Big Bear” by Liselotta Veloscope-Genrich (1901–1979) stands on a par with adventure books about the Indians of North America Fenimore Cooper and Mine Reed. The works of a German writer became a classic of youth literature, withstood dozens of reprints and were translated into many languages. The beginning of the cycle was laid by the novel of the same name, which was released in 1951, and its author was awarded the prestigious literary award. In subsequent years, Weloscope-Genrich did not leave work on the book and expanded it significantly. The first full edition saw the light in the early 1960s in three volumes (subsequently the cycle was also released in the form of a six-volume).
The readers' attention is proposed to the first book of the Harka, Son of the Leader, which tells that As a white man suddenly invades in the life of the Indian tribe of hunters in search of gold... The novel is represented in the new, full translation of R. S. Eyvadis (previously the “sons of Big Bear” were published only in an abbreviated form). The book also includes excellent illustrations by P. L. Paramonova.
