The monograph is devoted to the history and problems of healthcare in Russia. In it, on the actual material, the author showed how the health protection system developed in tsarist times, how it developed in the USSR and what it became in modern Russia. The analysis revealed that our state has significantly lagged behind the effectiveness of health protection from the leading countries of the world. This was facilitated by many factors: changes in the legislation, “optimization” (sharp reduction) of medical institutions, the fluidity of medical and other medical personnel caused by low wages and a decrease in the prestige of the profession, etc.
