Joseph Conrad (1857–1924)-English writer-novelist, son of the Polish nobleman, poet Apollo Korzhenevsky. From childhood, dreaming of the sea, the seventeen -year -old Conrad left the house of his uncle in Odessa, where he lived after his parents' death, first in Marcel, and then to England. Having hired a sailor into an English merchant ship, he visited all continents, received the title of captain and English citizenship.
The rich experience of the sailor allowed Konrad to become an unsurpassed master of the naval novel, from whom J. London, E. Hemingway, W. Fulkner and G. Green studied. The real collection includes the novels “The Heart of Darkness”, “Typhoon” and “Freya of the Seven Islands”.
