The mythological representations of the ancient Slavs, which existed in pagan culture, even in the era of Christianization significantly influenced the formation of calendar systems. Modern researchers use to restore the ancient Slavic calendar information from medieval written sources, archaeological finds, the people's calendar will, as well as analogies with the traditions of other peoples. The proposed book makes an attempt to summarize the image of the time in mythology, presented information from the history of the calendar, and also tells about the astronomical representations of the Slavs and their neighbors in Western and Eastern Europe. An important place is given to attempts to reconstruct the corresponding myths or their fragments.
