The story of Taranathi is especially valuable also because he had his own guru - direct sources, three Indian masters from the very schools that he writes about. One of them is the great Buddagup-Tanatha, a student of Mahasiddhi Shantigupta, who said: “I am known as the holder of seven instructions.”
