Charles Bukovsky is a cult American writer of the twentieth century, the author of more than forty books, including novels, poems, essays and stories. Despite the sometimes shocking naturalism, its texts are full of lyricalness, even a kind of sentimentality.
The novel “Hollywood” is based on the real story of the work of Bukovsky himself on the script of the film “Drunk”, which was set by the director Barbet Schreder in 1987. The main roles in it were played by stars such as Mickey Rourke and Fei Danai, and the prototypes of heroes are still easily recognizable: Francis Ford Coppola, Jean-Luke Hodar, Werner Herzog, Norman Meyler and others.
