The Holy Martyr Lyudmila, the Blessed Princess of Czech, lived in the 9th century. The fate of St. Lyudmila is largely similar to the fate of the patroness of the Russian land - the holy Equal -to -the -Apostles Olga. The origin and accurate date of birth of both are unknown, both of them adopted Christianity in adulthood, among the first people in their people, both were widowed early and were ruler with their children, and then raised wonderful grandchildren, also glorified in the face of saints. In Rus', the memory of Princess Lyudmila and her grandson of Prince Vyacheslav was already reverend under the equal apostal prince Vladimir and his sons.

All Slavic Orthodox churches keep about Holy Lyudmila - the first martyr of the Slavic peoples - a grateful memory. It is revered as one of the heavenly patronesses of the Czech Republic, Christian educators and teachers, grandmothers and mothers.
