Rabbi Nathan Slifkin is widely known for his innovative work in the field of Judaism research, lectures on the deep interaction of representatives of the kingdom of animals and the Torah, as well as the study of the connections between Judaism and the natural sciences. Noting the fact that the most important issues in classical Jewish literature are law and theology, the author draws attention to the mysterious creatures, fairy -tale monsters, which are so often found in Scripture, Talmud or Midrashi. Moreover, in each case, Slifkin wonders whether this is a mythical description of a real animal or an erroneous interpretation, and possibly a fabulous creature that never existed. Conducting his study from the point of view of theological interpretations, the author managed to remain within the framework of modern science, without focusing on the contradictions between the scientific and religious worldview.
