The book of the outstanding Greek Liturgist John Fundulis (1927–2007) by the art of preaching is a classic manual that first published in 1980 and has since been reprinted for the needs of students. This book was born from the Fundulis lecture course at Thessalonik University; The author’s deep knowledge is combined in it with the experience and achievements of his teacher Panayotis Trembelas, an outstanding Homilet and cartridge.

Fundulis is a liturgist, therefore, for him, a conversation about preaching is inconceivable without a deep knowledge of the worship tradition of the Church. The preaching itself for him is, first of all, the continuation of worship and the explanation of the sacred texts read on it.

the book of Fundulis is not only a course of lectures: it contains texts about the sermons compiled by church cathedrals, holy fathers and other writers of the ancient Churches, as well as exercises for a beginner preacher. At the end of the book, an extensive bibliography of Homiletic manuals is given - not only Greek, but also Russians added by publishers of the Moscow Theological Academy.
