“House on the shore” is one of the last novels of the English writer Daphne Dumorye, whose name is known all over the world. As in many writings of Dumorye, including such famous works as Rebecca, “Yamaika” and “Kuzina Rachel”, the action of the novel unfolds in Cornwall, where most of the writer's life took place. Dick Young comes to the old house on the shore of the bay, hoping to relax there from the hustle and bustle of London life. The mansion belongs to his long -standing friend Magnus Lane, professor of biophysics.
In exchange for hospitality, Magnus asks Dick to experience the action of the “elixir” created by him, which, as the professor assures, has a very unusual property to combine the past and future. Another world in which Dick plunges is much more real than the life that he still led...
