House under the sun. Larson K.
Karl Olof Larsson (1853-1919) One of the most famous Swedish artists who are especially revered in their homeland. Together with his wife, Karin is considered the founders of the “Swedish style”, characterized by an abundance of light, color, brightness and cheerfulness.
In 1901, the Larson settled in the vicinity of Sundborn, north of Stockholm, in the Carin's house presented by his father, an idyllic life in which, surrounded by households, became a source of happiness and creative inspiration for the artist. Larson's favorite models were his wife and their eight children, and the main theme of the paintings of everyday life and the holidays of his big and friendly family.
The artist himself said: “The paintings of my family and at home have become the most direct and strongest part of my whole life. These paintings are characterized, of course, a very true expression of my personality, my deepest feelings, all my boundless love for my wife and children. ”
The collection included the autobiography of Karl Larsson and the book “House under the Sun”, published in 1909 and brought the artist wide fame for the first time in Russian.
