How to start understanding art. The language of the artist. Markov A.V.
Alexander Markov - a philosopher, a historian of culture, professor of the RSUSU and VLSU, a leading researcher at the Institute of World Culture of Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov, invited lecturer of a number of European and American universities. In his book, the author tells how to learn to see and understand messages of complex picturesque compositions, to be able to solve hidden philosophical and worldview meanings. He considers how the topics of iconology, the Christian world, mythological heroes and historical characters are realized in art. For this, the famous paintings by Sandro Botticelli, Rembrandt, Titian, Leonardo da Vinci, Alfons Mukha and many others have been selected. In parallel, the author shows that painting is closely related to poetry, and often the artist’s thought can very accurately reveal a poet in his verse.
