Mikhail Zoshchenko (1894-1958) is primarily known as a satirist, the author of unusually funny stories and feuilleton. His characters are ambiguous: on the one hand, naive, even simple -minded, but sometimes able to humiliate and insult, and sometimes kill, especially if it concerns their property. Nevertheless, they cause truly homeric laughter. In addition to the chosen stories of the writer, this book was included in the novel “Blue Book” cycle, which he called the “brief history of human relations”, where stories about modernity alternate with stories about the past.
