Literature in the Hungarian language exists not only in Hungary itself, but also beyond its borders. After the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Trianon Treaty of Hungary, signed in 1920, lost part of the territories, about a third of its former Hungal-language population remained beyond the boundaries of the country. For almost a hundred years, the writers and poets of the Hungarian “Near Abroad” have been in touch with Hungarian literature, enriching it with the unique experience of close communication with other cultures. The collection “Hungary beyond the borders of Hungary” presents works of Hungarian writers Transylvania, Voevodina, South Slovakia and Transcarpathia.
