I and it

The psychoanalytic essay “I and it” is devoted to one of the most mysterious areas of the human psyche - the interaction of conscious and unconscious. Freud reveals the sophisticated mechanisms with which “it”, personifying the deep level of unconscious drives, controls our conscious “I”, while creating the illusion that “I” independently makes decisions.

The collection also included work “On the other side of the principle of pleasure”, in which the author discusses the paradoxical “attraction to death”, laid down in every living creature, and the essay “Moses and Monotheism”.
