Fet's legacy is really much more diverse than the school program allows us to consider.

We all know that Fet was an inspired singer of nature (and not only Russian, but also European) and a wise poem-philosopher, However, in addition to this, he was the author of the subtlest love lyrics, and very unusual ballads (both realistic and mystical), a good -natured apologist for a quiet, idyllic life in the Russian landowner estate and an exceptional connoisseur of ancient poetry, who knew how to brilliantly stylize his own works under it. And all these numerous faces of Fet's remarkable talent equally were reflected in the composition of this book.
