I died for beauty.... Dikinson E.
The creative fate of the American poetess Emily Dikinson, born in the small town of Amcherst, where she lived almost without a break until her death in voluntary recluse is amazing. During the life of Dikinson, only seven of her poems were published anonymously, and the first small collection was published posthumously. Meanwhile, the richest poetic heritage of Dikinson is almost two thousand poems. Nature, love, the sacrament of life and death are the main topics of its work, appreciated only at the beginning of the twentieth century, when Dikinson was recognized as one of the largest American poets. The poetry of Dikinson is distinguished by a special, very personal intonation, unconventional metric and rhyme, tense rhythm, laconicism, steepness, often making the verse difficult for understanding, as well as the wealth and whims of associations, the unusual freshness of perception, the immediacy of feeling and vision.
