I know that I know nothing. Confucius, Socrates
The Greek thinker Socrates was eighty years younger than the Chinese philosopher Confucius, but nevertheless they belonged to the same era, which is commonly called “axial time”: the time of search for the meaning of life, the emergence of new ideas about justice, truth and salvation. They both were teachers, both taught contemporaries not to pay attention not to life, but to general ideas and rules, did not impose their opinion, trying to arouse his own in a person.
At the same time, Confucius and Socrates went in different ways: The first one looked back at the story and in everything wanted to see harmony, such characteristic of the Chinese mentality, and the second was looking for the truth in the logic and fidelity of judgments.
