Iliotropion, or the consideration of human will with the will of the Divine

The word "Iliotropion" from Greek is translated as "sunflower." As the ancient Roman writer Pliny writes, “the sunflower plant represents a kind of miracle in nature: it is constantly turned to the sun to the sun and, along with it, turns from east to west, even in the days of cloud, so much loves the sun.” This property makes this flower with a symbol of a Christian, always looking for God - an universal sun illuminating the whole creation - and always ready to fulfill His will.
