James Edwin Gann (born 1923)-American science fiction writer, critic, teacher, professor at the University of Kansas, founder of the memorial awards of Starjon and Campbell. It is considered a pioneer of literary research in science fiction. Twice the winner of the Hugo Award, the Grand Master "Nebums". The author of almost two dozen novels and more than a hundred stories and stories. The collection includes the novel "Immortal", the cycles of stories and stories "Time of Witchcraft" and "The Future of the imperfect." The most famous story of the collection, “Wherever you are”, since the publication (1967, the legendary “Anthology of science fiction” from the “Young Guard”) has enjoyed great reader love and was even transferred to the screen: the television psiDiynamics of witchcraft (1990) , the film "If the Bride Witch" (2002). In the latter, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Sergey Bezrukov, Spartak Mishulin, Leonid Kuravlev starred.
