A respectable town near Oxford was shocked by the brutal murder of a local nurse Rachel, stabbed in her own house. And her sister Nora, who came from London, begins to seem that the police were working after his sleeves - as if he was not particularly striving to find a criminal. Desperate to get a sense of representatives of the law and guided by the only clue - Rachel’s phrase that something strange is happening in the town - Nora decides to conduct her own investigation.
