In search of Durer. Savoskul O.
The book is dedicated to the creation of the psychological portrait of Albrecht Dürer - one of the most outstanding artists of the Renaissance. The main attention in it is paid to the artist’s trip to Venice in 1505-1507. The storyline of the book is a “completed reality”, which combines into a single whole of the documents of the era and psychological sketches that fill individual gaps in the artist’s biography. A significant part of the quoted primary sources was first translated into Russian. The narrative genre can be defined as “Romance with the Urenaeus”: the reader receives a chance to become an accomplice in a historical investigation, since all the materials from which the author was repulsed when writing artistic chapters of the book.
