This book by Leen Krun, one of the most striking geniuses of modern Finnish literature, the author of numerous novels, stories, poems, fables and essays - wrote in 1976. “In the clothes of man” is a story about a pelican who dreamed of becoming a man. It so happened that a ten -year -old boy Emil is becoming a guide for him for him: it is he who helps the pelican to understand the strange world of human beings living in a big city.
Today, Leen Krun’s books are translated into more than 20 languages. Leena is a laureate of numerous literary awards, including the most prestigious Finland Award - Finlandia Prize (1992). According to the novel “In Man's Clothes”, in 2004, the film “The Pelican Man” was shot. Illustrations for the book were drawn by Anna Zhurko.
