In the days of Nefertiti. Mathieu M.
Militsa’s book Mathieu consists of two parts.
The first - “in the time of Nefertiti” - tells about the most interesting period in the history of ancient Egypt, when Pharaoh Amenhotep IV shocked the millennial foundations of ancient Egyptian society, declaring the supreme deity of the previously little -known atonon. Pharaoh himself changed the name Amenhotep (“Amon is pleased”) to Ekhnaton (“useful for Aton”) and, as a sign of breaking with the previous life, moved from Thebes to the new capital of Ahetaton. This city lasted only fifteen years, but this was enough for it to be associated with an entire era in art. In all endeavors, Akhnaton was accompanied by the wife of Nefertiti.
The second part of this publication was the work of the “Myths of Ancient Egypt”, in which, based on the texts of the pyramids, the texts of sarcophagi, the book of the dead and other sources are thoroughly versed in the legends, where the main characters are the sunny god RA, Osiris, and mountains , Set and other characters of the ancient Egyptian pantheon.
Militsa Mathieu - an Egyptologist, an art critic, headed the department of the ancient East of the Hermitage.
