In the footsteps of the missing plane. Gadiyatov V.G.
1937. The crew of the N-209 aircraft under the command of the famous pilot Sigismund Levanevsky flew into the transplar flight from Moscow to the United States through the North Pole. After an emergency radiogram sent from the North Pole district, he did not fly to the intermediate destination in Alaska at the estimated time. The search for the missing aircraft lasted a whole year, but they did not bring positive results.
Studying the materials for creating a film, the director Orlov establishes that in addition to officially registered radiograms accepted from the aircraft, other messages were sent, which were heard by radio operators in the northeast of the country. But for some reason they did not fall into the general list. The director concludes that Levanevsky’s plane did not break over the North Pole or near Alaska, and after the last emergency radioogram continued the flight.
