The novel is dedicated to the memory of the children of the besieged Leningrad, evacuated during the Second World War. His geography is wide: blockade Leningrad, Turkmenistan, post -war Moscow. The fate of the manuscript is unusual: the blockade of Moscow, the Moscow Region and Leningrad took part in its writing. For illustrations, the authors transferred copies of the drawings of Leningrad children of 1941-42, and the German artist Martin Schildympamp made a picture-stagnation for each part of it.
