The textbook considers the use of information technologies in the professional activities of the average medical personnel. Technical and software tools of personal computers are described in detail. The examples set out the use of Microsoft Office tools to prepare texts, perform calculations and build graphs, create a medical database, show the possibilities of a computer presentation. Attention is paid to working with the main subsystems of the medical information system. The classification of medical devices and computer systems is given.

The content of the textbook corresponds to the approximate programs of the academic disciplines “Informatics” and “Information technologies in professional activities”, developed on the basis of new federal state educational standards in all specialties of secondary medical professional education.
