What makes an ordinary person with a frir and killer?

In 1942, the Nazis sent about 4.5 thousand Yugoslav prisoners to concentration camps in North Norway. When the war ended, only one third survived. Many horrors of concentration camps have become well -known. Incomprehensible things were discovered. Torture. Mass destruction of people. Not only Nazis, but also ordinary Norwegians served as guards in these camps. After the war, some were convicted of cruelty and murder of prisoners. How was it possible? Maybe these people were mentally abnormal, monsters? Or is it the result of the action of abnormal social systems and relations?
