Insomnia. E. Rudashevsky
Dan moved to America. For a while - he is studying at the university in Chicago. The semester goes on as usual: the 19-year-old young man selectively goes to classes, starts new friends, reluctantly and does not immediately fall in love. Here, away from his native Moscow, life might seem to him gray, if not for one “but”: in the nightstand lies a reliably hidden black knee. In it is the true goal of the trip.
The novel-Devil Evgeny Rudashevsky describes the moment of a painful and inevitable transition from "teenager" into adulthood. On the threshold of the 20th anniversary, the main character for the first time understands that it is by no means omnipotent, and discovers that the world is far from ideal. It’s not too late for Dan to take everything into his own hands and change: to get rid of paternal pressure (“You will be an excellent lawyer, the place is already waiting for you!”), To immerse yourself in creativity, to accept reality with all the flaws. Or at least live the life that the heroes of the beloved Keruak had: to gather friends, jump into the car and rush away where they look.
Evgeny Rudashevsky - perhaps the main expert on teenage psychology (at least male) among modern authors. He did not seem to become an adult: the thoughts and feelings of his heroes from 14 to 20 years old are so accurately recreated. The novel “Insomnia”, on the one hand, differs from the novels that have become popular, “Hello, my brother BZOU!”, “Where Kumutkan and Raven” go, and on the other, it is similar to them by mood. But if in those stories as in the book “Solongo. The secret of the missing expedition ”, the heroes opposed nature, then here Dan leaves his family and himself. Do I need to justify anyone's expectations? Is there your personal road somewhere, and if so-how to get to it?
