Alexander Etkind is a scientist of an unusual fate, combining indefatigable curiosity with fruitful labor, adventurism in choosing the topics with a successful academic career. Starting as a psychologist, he took place as a cultural historian, then acquired the status of a political commentator and influuanier; He worked as a professor at the European University in St. Petersburg, the University of Cambridge and the European University Institute in Florence, is now teaching at the Central European University in Vienna.

In this book, in the reverse chronological order, interviews are collected, which Etkind gave Russian-speaking media in 2001-2021. Among the interlocutors of Etkind are Arkady Dragmoshchenko, Dmitry Bykov, Anna Narinskaya and other famous contemporaries.
