Introduction to literary hermeneutics. Theory and practice. Lyapushkina E.I.
The theory of the interpretation of the text and the science of understanding of meaning - this is the most general definition of the concept of "hermeneutics." Taken in this meaning, it turns out to be an extremely wide phenomenon, representing a universal method in the field of humanities (psychology, history, sociology, philology, art history, law, etc.).
in the textbook compiled by St. Petersburg philologist E. I. Lyapushkina (1963–2018), hermeneutics is considered in one of its aspects - the one in which it becomes part of the theory of literature, the basis of interpretative strategies that allow you to detect implicit meanings of classical works. At the same time, philological orientation does not mean a highly specialized approach: the development of literary problems appears in the context of the general philosophical foundations of hermeneutics and the history of their formation for two centuries from the end of the 18th - early 19th centuries. The composition of the publication combining theoretical studies and the practice of interpretation realizes the dialectics of understanding - the key condition for hermeneutic reading and understanding.
