Introduction to modern logic. Advanced logic course. Modern ideas and methods. Examples for all key issues. Gladky A.V.
This book differs from all previously published textbooks in that its main content is not traditional, but modern ideas and methods of logic. Significantly more than usual, the apparatus of predicates, quantors and propositional ligaments is set out. The modern theory of evidence (based on the calculation of the natural conclusion) is presented and a new interpretation of Aristotelian systems is given. Along with formal logic, elements of the logic of scientific knowledge are presented. The hypothetical-deductive method is considered in detail; Separately, the issue of the features of reasoning used in the humanitarian areas of knowledge is considered. The presentation is accompanied by numerous examples and tasks.
The book is based on lectures that were given by the author at the historical, philological and psychological faculties of the Russian State Humanitarian University. The author sought to make the presentation as more accessible and for this purpose tried to explain all the key points and illustrate them with examples. But at the same time, the proposed course is more difficult than traditional; It sets out a more advanced material.
The book is intended for those who are not afraid of labor and want to study the logic seriously.
The book can also serve as a logic manual for gymnasiums and lyceums.
