Merab Konstantinovich Mamardashvili (1930–1990) is one of the most significant thinkers of the second half of the twentieth century. The present publication included two courses of lectures read by M.K. Mamardashvili at VGIK in 1979-1980 under the general name “Introduction to Philosophy”. Of the entire legacy of the author, these lectures are the most affordable and understandable to a wide range of readers.
