Invisible abuse. Rev. Nicodemus Svyatorets
The book “Invisible Branus” first became known to the Russian reader in the translation of St. Theophan the Recluse in 1885, after which she was repeatedly reprinted. She became a classic leadership in spiritual life, a textbook for those who are trying to fulfill the commandments of the Lord: to forgive griefs, pray for those who create misfortunes, to love even their enemies. “Invisible abuse” reveals to the reader the path to salvation in Christ.
According to the Monk Nicodemus Svyatogorets, “every person who wants salvation is learning to defeat the invisible enemies of his own in order to gain the treasures of true and divine virtues and for that, to get an inconspicated crown and pledge of eternal, which is unity With God both in the current century and in the future. ” This abuse, says the author, is immensely difficult because the enemy is in us, and therefore, “entering into the abuse with ourselves, in our own way we meet anti -defects,” in other words, we are at war with the evil that we learn to recognize in ourselves. In the preparation of this publication, the text is close to modern standards of spelling and punctuation, is equipped with an explanation of obscure words and notes. The application contains articles by Hegumen Leonty (Kozlov), candidate of theology of the Moscow Theological Academy: “The Life of St. Nicodemus Svyatogorets” and “The origin of the book“ Invisible Branus ”.
