We all know Russian folk tales since childhood. “Turnip”, “Kolobok” or “Ryabu chicken” each baby repeats by heart, barely learning to speak. Growing up, the child gets acquainted with fairy tales more complicated. This book contains four tales in the processing of Alexei Tolstoy, who, carefully preserving their ancient form, managed to convey to us centuries -old folk wisdom.

illustrated these tales with a wonderful French artist Francois Ruye. Ruye retreated from the usual tradition of the image of folk heroes and, adding irony, painted them cheerfully and witty, as in a friendly cartoon.
