The book includes three tales of the classic of domestic children's literature Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky. "King Puzan" was written, according to the author, "at the request of their own children" in the summer of 1917. In the same year, Chukovsky created his own version of the Welsh folk tale “Jack - Walker of the Giants”, which also entered this collection.
