In the first volume of the anthology of Jeat, in the retelling of Ken and Wisakhi Kavasaki, 100 stories out of 217 were included in the first acquaintance of the modern Western reader with the ancient genre of Indian parable about the earthly reincarnations of the Buddha. It is believed that the Buddha himself used these stories to convey the teachings to people. The enormous popularity of stories has not faded the third millennium - their plots have penetrated the canons of fairy tales of many peoples, and this is explained not only by the entertainment of the magical plots themselves, but also by moral instruction in eternal values, an accurate description of the most important human problems - those that remain unchanged at all times and in all cultures.
