Kazus. Individual and unique in history. Anthology. Comp. Akeliev E.V., Velizhev M.B.
Microhistory sets the task of interpreting a person’s behavior in circumstances dictated by power. Its goal is to see in him an actor who can influence the course of events and aware of his involvement in them. Thus, this direction of historical science is opposed to the intellectual tradition in which the individual is understood as part of a certain “people's mass”, as a passive object, and not the subject of the historical process. The Almanac “Kazus”, founded in 1996 by a brilliant media historian Yuri Lvovich Immortal and aroused great interest in the scientific community, was the first and for a long time the only platform for the development of the microistory in Russia.
The first part of the real anthology introduces the reader to the texts on the theory that gave an impulse to the “incident” direction in modern domestic historiography, and the second part with research in the first five numbers of the almanac. These works help trace how the methodological principles formulated by Yu.L. are applied and developed. Immortal and other authors of the "incident". The book puts down on the new project of the UFO Publishing House, dedicated to microistoric research.
