Keel chronicler. Dimitri (Rostov), saint
The historical and chronographic composition of St. Dimitri Rostov’s “Keley Chronicler”, written by him in the last years of his life, was very popular in the XVIII and XIX centuries. In its content, the chronograph genre - the oldest historical chronicle - is uniquely combined with theological reasoning, which causes a special semantic capacity of the text. Saint Ignatius Bryanchaninov and Rev. Ambrose Optinsky pointed out the special significance of the “chronicler” “for leadership in life itself, in order to know and be able to do what should be done purely in Christian, according to Orthodox decisions.” The book is accompanied by an introductory article telling about the history of the creation of the Chronicler.
The publication is designed for a wide range of readers.
