The Second World War is going on, but here, in the Japanese prisoner of war camp, the sounds of the battle are not heard. Here, officers and soldiers are waging their own war for survival in inhuman conditions. King, the American corporal, strives for dominance both over the captives and over the invaders. His weapons are fearless and magnificent knowledge of human weaknesses. He is ready to use every opportunity to expand his power and corrupt or destroy anyone who is in his way. King resells valuable objects of prisoners of the camp guards for the money for which you can buy smuggled food. This contradicts the Japanese rules and, thus, the rules of the camp, but most officers turn a blind eye to trade. Robin Gray is an exception, and he intends to catch King. In 1965, the film of the same name was shot by the novel “King of Rats”, which had a great success. The role of King was played by George Sigal (a nominee for the Oscar Award and a two -time laureate of the Golden Globe Award), and Robin Gray played Tom Courtney (twice a nominee for the Oscar Award).
