Labyrinth by the sea. Herbert Z.

A special place in the work of the outstanding Polish poet Zbignev Herbert (1924-1988) is occupied by essays dedicated to European culture.

“Labyrinth by the Sea” (1973) A book about ancient Greece, about the civilization of Etruscans and the later Roman Roman conquests in Europe. During the life of the author, it was not printed, since Herbert was a political emigrant and ruler of the thoughts of the Polish opposition. The book was first published in the poet’s homeland only in 2000. Saturated by the details of the Essay of Zbignev Herbert, develop in the history of the era and revive the past.
