Teenager Volodya and his little sister Natasha spent dad to the front, and they themselves stayed with her mother in Moscow. They really expect letters from him, but the mailbox is empty. Volodya took the place of his father at the machine at the defense plant and is now working for the front. Later, it is Volodin who will put the last point in the war.
